Victor Vargas: So Jason how are you doing as Public Relations head?
Jason Marko: Ok.
Vargas: Now… ok a man of few words, but anyways a lot of people have been wondering about “A Taste of Animethon”, it was just announced a few days ago, and for starters, what is “Taste of Animethon” about?
Marko: “A Taste of Animethon” is an miniature event with some programming like we would have at any Animethon. But it’s a small event. One day.
Vargas: Ok, and what kind of things can attendees expect when they go to this mini Animethon?
Marko: Well we’ll have some large viewing rooms, main events room, and some smaller rooms, and some gaming rooms. There’s 8 rooms total… no 6 rooms total, counting the dealers room… actually vendors room as it is properly called.
Vargas: Well then a bunch of people will be wondering a few things, like when will the sign up sheets for Artist Alley , the Vendor’s Room, …
Marko: There is no Artist Alley. There’s a Vendor’s Room.
Vargas; Ok, but I understand that in the Vendor’s Room there is a section for the artists. It was posted on the deviant art site?
Marko: There is a Vendor’s Room, with tables available to the artists at a reduced rate of the Vendors price.
Vargas: Oh, so this time the event isn’t going to be on the ticket system?
Marko: No. This time there is a Vendors Room. And the artists have the ability to purchase a table within that room.
Vargas: Ok I’m just used to the old… ok so it’s a Vendor’s Room. So what are the prices then for Artists that want to get involved?
Marko: Its $10.00 a table. That’s what it is.
Vargas: Ok then to compare that, what do the Vendor’s tables cost?
Marko: $95.00 a booth.
Vargas: $95.00 a booth. Ok. So any artists that would like to sign up for that, just wait for the sign up…
Marko: Yeah, you have to wait for when the information is out. It will hopefully ready for the weekend.
Vargas: Now the other question people would be also wondering about is volunteering. How do you also volunteer for “A Taste of Animethon”? There are a few people that are used to volunteering for all Animethon events. Is this open for everyone to volunteer, or do you already have volunteers?
Marko: We were requested to use the volunteer pool for that had volunteered for Animethon. So if they are willing to volunteer for “A Taste of Animethon”, they have to contact the “Animethon” volunteer system.
Vargas: Ok that’s pretty straight forward. Now for “Taste of Animethon”, is there going to be any admission cost?
Marko: Yes, $5.00.
Vargas: $5.00 a head. Ok, is this going to be donated to the food bank?
Marko: No. $5.00 admission fee.
Vargas: And donating to the food bank isn’t going to be a discount this time?
Marko: That is something that is dealt with Animethon, it is normally dealt that way. The discount has not been used for many years within Animethon as proper. It’s been given credit, but it’s never been advertised for oh, 4-5 years.
Vargas: Ok, more about the fun things that can be done at “Taste of Animethon”. So there is going to be a Vendor’s Room with specially discounted artist tables. There’s going to be this gaming…
Marko: There’s going to be a Vendor’s Room. Yeah.
Vargas: There’s going to be this gaming room, and there’s going to be viewing rooms, 8 rooms in total. Are there any other events being planned?
Marko: We haven’t got the list of programming yet. It’s 5 weeks away. It was given to us a very short time ago, less than 3 weeks. We should have information a lot closer to the event. Of what is going to be shown. I mean, it’s a very short order there. There is a schedule being made by programming and it’s coming.
Vargas: Ok. Anything else you’d like to add about “A Taste of Animethon”.
Marko: It should be a nice small event. I’d like to see everyone there that would possibly like to make it. It would be nice to see you out. And if you are interested in what’s happening for volunteering and staff, if you are interested in that, for Animethon. Please come down, there’ll be staff members and executive available. That’s what it’s for.
Vargas: Ok thank you very much Mr. Marko. And look for our 2nd podcast with Jason Marko, Director of PR, where we will talk about Animethon proper and we’ll see what’s going on with that. Thanks for joining us.
