Website: http://www.edmontongamers.com

Overview: The organization that supports and runs gaming events throughout Edmonton, now providing podcasts, news, and commentary.

Greatest Fear: It’s Anime-Alberta.org from the evil gaming mirror universe.

Current Activities: Holding a Starcraft 2 Tournament on November 20th and are running Podcasts and Vlogs.

Since 2006, Edmonton Gamers has been holding events and uniting the gaming community of Edmonton. Not confined to one genre of gaming, the club and website celebrates all form of gaming from FPS, RTS, RPGS, WTF, SIMs, MMOs, and so on. If it runs off a console or PC, they play it.

Recently the Edmonton Gamers have expanded their activities into the world of internet news. Gamer “Decode” and “Shiro_Dk” have begun a podcast about gaming, as well as a Vlog about whats new in the community.

If you are interested in casual gaming, trying your hand at professional tournaments, or you just want to talk with someone that actually played “The Shadow of Destiny” this is the place to go.

AMV Hell is known for displaying some the worst, usually intentional, Anime Music Video's created by human beings. Usually these AMV's deal with mature subject matter that is not suited for minors. However, AMV Hell 5 is unique amongst the AMV Hell series as it is relatively (emphasis on the word relatively) safe for consumption by a younger audience.

http://www.bakaclub.com/ratings.php

One of the best services that Banzai Anime Klub of Alberta offers to the public is it’s rating list.

It is said that on Friday at an undisclosed location, BAKA’s elite Otaku gather together and rate the latest shows to be released from fan subs. Each show is judged on a scale of -5 (worst) to +5 (best) and averaged from all the Otaku that are present.

What makes this system unique from all the other rating systems, is that the anime club tries to provide ratings for the first episode of a series AND the entire series. So with this system you’d know that a show like Eden of the East starts off good (score of 3.3 for ep1) but only gets better with each episode (series rated at 4.7). And another show like Pumpkin Scissors starts off strong (score of 3.4 for ep1) but overall drops in quality (series score of 2.7).

It’s a great resource for anyone wanting to find a new series or is just wondering if a show is worth their time.
