As you already know, Japan suffered a sever earthquake and tsunami. Here are some place you can call that can help.

Oxfam Canada: Teams and partner organizations are on-site and monitoring the situation from the ground. Donate here.
The Salvation Army: Helping victims of the quake recover from the disaster. Donate here.

From the AMV Hell Website:

SSGWNBTD takes over in order to bring new life to AMV Hell. I asked him to write a description of the project, which follows:
“It’s a video.”

AMV Hell is known for displaying some the worst, usually intentional, Anime Music Video’s created by human beings. Usually these AMV’s deal with mature subject matter that is not suited for minors. However, AMV Hell 5 is unique amongst the AMV Hell series as it is relatively (emphasis on the word relatively) safe for consumption by a younger audience.

JET Info Sessions for October

JET (Japenese Exchange and Teaching Program) are running info sessions throughout October. People who participate in the program help teach English at public and private elementary, junior, or senior high schools, or serve in government organizations.

JET Sessions happening during October

University of Calgary – October 7th from 11:00-11:45 in International Student Centre Meeting Room
University of Lethbridge - October 19th from6:00pm – 7:30pm in Room: W646
University of Alberta – October 19th from 1:30pm – 2:20pm and 2:30 – 3:20pm in ED South 107
Concordia University College of Alberta – October 20th 9:00am- 11:30. Room TBA
MacEwan University – October 20th 1:00pm – 2:00pm and 2:15pm – 3:15pm in Room 6-212
